Plot Summary: When a local woman (Katie Holmes) disappears and the police can't seem to find any leads, her father (Chelcie Ross) turns to a poor young woman (Cate Blanchett) with psychic powers. Slowly she starts having visions of the woman chained and in a pond. Her visions lead to the body and the arrest of an abusive husband (Keanu Reeves), but did he really do it? Greg Kinnear is the missing woman's fiancee, Hilary Swank plays Reeve's abused wife, and Gary Cole is a sleazy attorney with ties to the missing woman.

Comments: A compelling, genuinely intriguing, very well-acted mystery/thriller. This is a superb movie. The acting was great, and believable. Keanu Reeves was a big surprise, his best performance yet bringing the best of The Matrix, Permanent Record and The Last Time i Committed Suicide together. Kate Blanchette was unsurprisingly perfect for the role of Annie. Actually... the whole cast was brilliant. It is pretty creepy and Sam Raimi has done an excellent job of creating a nail biting atmosphere. The individual scenes are good, however the twist was far too predictable. The ending wasn't, so the twist was acceptable... just. The plot was... OK. If you are one of those harsh criticle film watchers who are restricted to movies with fantastic plots blah blah blah then you will not approve. The plot/twist/ending isn't perfect. However that certainly doesn't stop this being an extremely enjoyable movie. 8/10.

Plot Summary: Leigh Ann Watson (Katie Holmes) is a teenage student at Grandsboro High. An "A" in history would make her valedictorian and het her a scholarship to Harvard. When she turns in her history project, a 365 day diary of a girl accused in the salem witch trials, a 6 month effortful piece of work, she receives a "C" from history teacher Mrs. Tingle, the meanest teacher at Grandsboro High. This gives an opportunity for Marybeth Carter (Liz Stauber), a rival student, to achieve an "A" and become valedictorian. As Leigh Ann tries to catch up doing extra credit by setting up graduation seating with her best friend, Jo Lynn (Marisa Coughlan), history class failure Luke Churner (Barry Watson), enters with Mrs. Tingle's final exam cheat sheet. Leigh Ann is caught with it and Mrs. Tingle threatens to tell the Principal (Michael McKean) about it. The result would have been expulsion, so the trio of teenagers attempt to regain Leigh Ann's innocence by reasoning with Mrs. Tingle. When their attempt fails, they attack Mrs. Tingle and tie her to her bed. Is there a possible way to prove Leigh Ann innocent?

Comments: Very good movie showing the conflict between students who are just starting their lives and the teachers who are already up there, excercising all the power they've got. This movie shows exactly how the teachers today are excersing their powers un-ethically on the students. A great movie for all the students! My rating: 8/10
